The Secret of Preventing Weight Gain
By Brad Morris

If you are interested in beginning a new way of life, living healthy right now, please click on any of the blue text within this article. You will be glad you did, I am!

Most people are not at a healthy weight. If you are, you are already ahead of the game. If you are not, you should surely do a little planning and it is never a better time to start then the present. Perhaps you are overweight and not ready to lose weight right now. If this is the case, preventing further weight gain is not only logical but a healthy choice.

We grow older and our body composition changes. At one time, we were probably more active then we are today. We were able to keep more of the muscle and lose much of the fat. Now what is happening is we lose the muscle and retain more of the fat. This process slows our metabolism; therefore, we gain and retain more weight.

We can prevent weight gain by opting to make a lifestyle change that will include good eating habits along with some degree of exercise. If we do not gain any additional weight, we can at least lower our chances of contracting many chronic diseases associated with being overweight. Some of these diseases are heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and even some cancers.

An Individualized Eating and Support Program That Will Prevent Weight Gain or Help You to Lose Weight

Have you tried many "yo-yo diets" and/or "diet plans", have you listened to so many of those "so-called" experts that give you so many different forms of information on the correct way to eat? "It does not matter what you eat as long as you eat small portions of food each day", or eat small portions but eat them often throughout the day" or how about "you can eat one big meal per day as long as it is not after 6: PM". That will keep the weight off, right. How have those plans worked out for you? You are not alone.

The key to a healthy eating plan is a good program. A program that is tailor made just for you by experts in their field. We are all unique individuals and each one of us has a different body chemistry that allows us to lose weight or keep additional weight off at our own pace. A tailor made program is one that has a Nutritionist and a Fitness Expert on staff that can teach you, the individual, to make a habit out of choosing foods that are not only nutritious and healthful but great tasting along with an exercise program that only encourages you. A good program would allow you to work at your own pace without any pressure and certainly without that humiliation and feeling of withdrawal. A good program should not stop there. A good and complete program should assist you with your goals, should offer a one on one support/coaching system. This program should supply you with the tools you need, such as healthy, nutritious and great tasting recipes (recipe management) where all the ingredients are at your local supermarket and you do not have to send away to the Far East for anything. Additional tools are online reports/charts that you can print out and measure your progress, and the program would offer forums and chat rooms so that you can speak or chat with other individuals that have the same concerns as you do. The program should be easy to use and the site very easy to navigate. There should be testimonials and many videos, and many articles and blogs filled with good reliable information that you can read, but only if you want to, again, no pressure. There should be immediate and expert client support with insightful answers to your anonymous (if you chose to be) questions at the ready.

You Know the Truth

It is true. There are many reasons and factors why a person gains weight or just cant lose a few pounds with diet and exercise. We all get comfortable with whom we have become and as we grow older and we relax in our lifestyle, we simply lose track of what is important. I also feel strongly that there are certainly medical factors for some of us and by no means am I suggesting that a program, any program, will be the answer. For those of us with medical conditions, please consult with your health care professional. I also believe that there are those of us with an addictive personality. "We are addicts and we want what we want when we want it". Whether it is a new car or a certain food does not matter. We tend to think about "that taste" and we go and we get it, because if we do not we will be thinking about it all the time until it dominates our every thought. Then, if you are like me, we feel guilty afterwards, and ask ourselves "why did I need that"? The problem is, is that we love the hunt, it is the same with shopaholics (just to name one), and once we succumb to the temptation, we have feelings of guilt. We talk ourselves into believing that it is this one time and that we will now begin to act differently but we all know what happens next. Like most addicts-we believe that we can stop or change by ourselves but the truth is we cannot do it alone. We need help.

Do You Want to Learn More?

I am not claiming to be a medical professional or a nutritionist, or even a health guru. I am someone just like you or maybe someone you know that has suffered with or suffering now with a problem of sorts. I can tell you that I have been around just like you, have tried many ways to solve this problem on my own. I also know, and I am taking a wild guess that you, like I, know first hand what it is like to suffer quietly. Some may say it is a disease and perhaps they are correct. However, it does not matter as much, the problem, as the solution to the problem and getting to the root cause of it. If I mentioned something that hit home like having an addiction or if the cause may be an emotional one, then read on.

So many illnesses (physical and mental health) can stem from our bad eating habits over the years and the lack of nutrition we get, and not to mention our lack of exercising, just not being as active (bad eating habits causes energy deficiency) any longer.
